Who is responsible

Uplevel Labs, Inc. operates Hushimal and is responsible for the personal information described here. Our payment partner Paddle is the merchant of record and seller of record for purchases, and is a separate controller for the billing information it collects to complete a sale and meet tax and fraud rules.

Information we use

We use account details, the pet profile you create (saved to your account so it follows you across devices), your completed sessions, stories and activities, selected anxiety triggers, playback activity, subscription status, gift redemption, and referral activity to provide and improve Hushimal.

Voice recordings and AI narration

If you use the owner-voice feature, we record a short sample of your voice, create a personalised voice from it, and generate narration audio for stories written for your pet. Voice samples, the created voice, story text and narration audio are stored privately and are visible only to you: audio lives in a private storage bucket and is played back through short-lived private links. We share the sample and the written prompt with the AI providers that generate story text and narration audio, only to produce your story. We do not use your voice to make decisions about you, we do not sell it, and deleting your voice stops all further use of it.

Product measurement

We count anonymous steps such as finishing setup, starting a sound, completing an activity, starting a trial or cancelling. These counts contain no name, email, account id, IP address or advertising identifier, and are skipped entirely when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.

Payments

Payment details are collected and processed by Paddle as seller of record. Hushimal receives purchase and subscription status, not full card details.

How we share

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We share only what is needed with service providers that operate authentication, payments and tax, hosting and storage, text generation, voice synthesis, and product analytics. Each is bound to use the data only to deliver its part of Hushimal. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to protect the safety of users, animals, or the service.

Where your data lives and how long

Account, profile and story data is stored on our hosting and storage providers while your account is open. Voice recordings and narration audio are kept until you delete them. If you delete your account, we remove your profile, recordings, stories and progress within a short period, keeping only the minimum billing records that tax and fraud law requires us to retain.

Your choices

You can access, correct, export or delete your information, including your pet profile, voice copy, and any narrated story, from inside the app, or by asking us. You can manage billing and cancel a subscription at any time. You can object to or opt out of product measurement, and browsers that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are already opted out. Where you live, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Security

Access to personal data requires authentication, storage of narration audio is private by default, and we limit access to what a role genuinely needs. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we keep the data we hold to the minimum needed.

Children

Hushimal is made for adult pet owners and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children; if you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that affects how we use your information, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
